The Programs and Activities of our YMCA are of varied and diversified nature from Youth Programs, Inter-Faith programs, Ecumenical programs, Medical and Health related programs etc. Our activities in the areas of health and fitness extend to activities like the ongoing project on ‘Value Based Awareness on HIV/AIDS & STDs and Addiction among the Youth’, YMCA Doctors Forum, Yoga sessions, and Medical Camps. Our reach in diverse spheres also means that YMCA Thrissur has been able to carve out a place for itself in the socio-cultural profile of Thrissur .

The Week of Prayer is jointly conducted by the Christian Emphasis Committee of YMCA and the Religious Action Committee of the YWCA of Thrissur.

Youth Programs
- All Kerala Inter-School Patriotic Song Competition
The University Students wing of the YMCA has been conducting the All Kerala Inter-School Patriotic Song Competition since 2006.
- All Kerala YMCA-Balarama Children’s Painting Competition
We are a major centre for this all Kerala program that is conducted by the South West India Region of YMCA and ‘Balarama’ a prominent children’s magazine.

Youth Activities

The junior division of the YMCA called the University Students’ wing of YMCA comprising of volunteers from ages 17-25.

The next generation of YMCA leaders, they are Full Members of the YMCA aged less than 30 years.
Medical and Health Programs
- YMCA Doctors’ Forum
We are the only YMCA in Kerala to have a YMCA Doctors Forum which is a collective of about 50 doctors in Thrissur who volunteer their services for the medical activities of the YMCA.

- HIV/AIDS Awareness Project
One of the major projects undertaken was the ‘Value Based Awareness on HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse for the Youth’ which was a three year program that concluded in the 2010. About 3000 college and school students had been given awareness on HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse by our panel of resource persons what included eminent doctors, psychiatrists, HIV/AIDS Activists and even Persons Living with HIV/AIDS. This project covered the districts of Thrissur and adjoining Palakkad. It was a joint project with the Y’s Men International.

Awards and Recognitions
- C.M. George Memorial Award
The C.M. George Memorial Award was instituted in 2002 by Sri. Mathew George in recognition of the exemplary and meritorious services rendered to YMCA Thrissur.
- Chammanam Devassy Award
The Chammanam Devassy Award which was instituted in 2001 by Sri. C.D. Paul, is given in recognition and encouragement to the Best YMCA Worker.
- YMCA Awards of Excellence
To encourage persons from the business and social fields who have excelled in their respective areas of activity, the YMCA Awards of Excellence was instituted by the Board of Directors from the year 2010 onwards. Three persons from any segment would be chosen by an expert committee after due scrutiny of nominations filled by a team of social researchers.

This is an encouragement given to children of YMCA Members, who excel in academic studies.
